Today we know more than ever before about the importance of children’s earliest years in shaping their learning and development. Yet, never before have the needs of young children and their families been more pressing. The Week of the Young Child is a time to recognize that children’s opportunities are our responsibilities, and to recommit ourselves to ensuring that each and every child experiences the type of early environment—at home, at child care, at school, and in the community—that will promote their early learning.
Week of the Young Child will be celebrated nationally in schools and child care centers during the month of April. Please refer to the Campus Kinder Haus calendar for this year’s dates.
Throughout this special week, Campus Kinder Haus is encouraging families to turn off their TV’s and turn in a NO TV Voucher for every night they do not watch TV. We do other special activities centered around this week, such as an Art Show for families. We will send out more information to parents as the time comes.
The St. Jude Trike-A-Thon is a fun service-learning program for young children that teaches trike and riding toy safety while helping the children of St. Jude. The CKH children have the opportunity to raise money for the hospital, ride their bicycles/tricycles at home or at the park and have fun with their friends!
Each year around Christmas, Campus Kinder Haus has a special program for the children to participate in. Each class learns songs and poems to perform for friends and family on a selected night!
