On one side, Bárbara Tinoco’s Indie-Pop, on the other Nenny’s rap and Afro. More than a concert, RED BULL SoundClash opposes different musical styles. In Portugal, the stage for the battle will be the iconic Campo Pequeno concert hall, in Lisbon.

But what is this RED BULL SoundClash that is now debuting in our country? Inspired by the historic Jamaican musical disputes of the 1950so RED BULL SoundClash brings two artists together on stage in a confrontation between different musical styles. At opposite ends, each of them has their space, their opportunity to win over the public. And it is precisely the public’s responsibility to choose who wins, through the intensity of their applause, measured by the event’s official sound level meter.
RED BULL gives wings to artists
After exciting audiences over the last 20 years, in 39 countries, RED BULL SoundClash will now register its brand in Portugal. With clashes like Snoop Dogg vs Ghostland Observatory on the CV, expectations are high. But, in itself, the challenge of taking artists beyond their creative and musical limits is a tempting proposition – a kind of open-ended, unpredictable challenge that gives wings to artists, always with surprising results. And as if two names weren’t enough, at RED BULL SoundClash two surprise guests also take to the stage, called by each of the artists. For example, Major Lazer called Usher to the Wembley Arena stage in 2012, in what was recorded as one of the most memorable moments of these battles.
In Lisbon, Carlão will be the host on duty in a sound battle that will fill Sagres Campo Pequeno with strong emotions. In an epic night, and over four moments – warm up, cover, take over and clash –, the Portuguese public will have the opportunity to vibrate with two powerful female voices. There will be no shortage of charisma and attitude, in an authentic tribute to the affirmation of women in Portuguese music.
