The mayor of Milpa Alta, Octavio Rivero Villaseñor, inaugurated the 7th. Bebeteca in the town of San Bartolome Xicomulcowhere free services will be provided, within the framework of the project Worthy Baby that was implemented by the government that fights for children and as part of its commitments made to the population. “The Government that Fights and the baby centers have done our bit to ensure that this child care system is in place.”
Octavio Rivero highlighted that this care system carried out in Milpa Alta, “is unique in Mexico City and Milpa Alta is the first in all the municipalities and even in the country. The mayor’s office will have a comprehensive care system for all communities and Milpa Alta will be an example for Mexico City, to help girls and boys. Today a new community life begins in Xicomulco, with the opening of the Bebeteca.”
The Mayor said with this action he fulfills his campaign promise and response to the citizens. “Today I come to fulfill a promise, but, above all, I informed you that these spaces are recreational, learning, worthy for Milpa’s children, to guarantee their full development and the rights to early childhood, and thus build a more hopeful future for Milpa Alta.”

This Bebeteca joins the 6 more that have been inaugurated in: Santa Ana Tlacotenco, San Jerónimo Miacatlán, San Agustín Ohtenco, San Francisco Tecoxpa, San Lorenzo Tlacoyucan and San Salvador Cuauhtenco.
The Mayor explained that in these dignified spaces (Bebetecas), free care will be provided to more than 20 thousand infants; That is, 10,500 babies from zero to 3 years old from the mayor’s office and another 10,000 infants from 4 to 10 years old, who are taught early childhood stimulation workshops, children’s literature workshops, musical initiation, children’s theater, workshops for parents, breastfeeding, as well as Nahuatl classes; Taught by teachers and professionals trained in interaction with children.

He added that, with this 7th. Bebeteca, the Government that Fights seeks to serve the new generations, build a better future for Milpa Alta, For this reason, efforts are redoubled to provide favorable conditions so that the children of the 12 towns “have new and better opportunities and guarantee them the full development of their rights, education from the cradle and receiving them in the world with the love and attention that every human being deserves from the cradle.”
Villaseñor stressed that he personally supervised this baby library, so it will be a safe and dignified space, where early stimulation, learning, games, literature, family and communal coexistence, and art are practiced through activities that develop healthy recreation, where childhood is the central axis, in addition to teaching art, music, children’s theater, workshops for infants and parents, with professional teachers trained in interaction in childhood, all of this for free.
Finally, Octavio Rivero reaffirmed its commitment to continue promoting projects to benefit the children of Milpa. “At Milpa Alta, we are creating a place where the little ones can grow, learn, explore and describe new experiences.”
