IECM prepares second consultative forum for people with disabilities


He Electoral Institute of Mexico City (IECM) invited people with disabilities to join the consultative forum on affirmative actions, for the Ordinary Local Electoral Process 2026-2027.

The consultation will take place next November 5in the Utopia Ixtapalcalli, located in the Iztapalapa mayor’s office, where their proposals and opinions will guide the definition of affirmative actions in the nomination of candidates, indicated the Institute.

The IECM explained that the forum seeks to detect the specific needs of this priority attention group, promoting free, informed and enriching participation that drives collective decisions towards a more participatory and egalitarian political representation in the next electoral process.

The session will feature panels of specialists in affirmative action, democratic participation and electoral processes, who will resolve doubts and guide comments of the attendees.

In the coming days, the IECM will also hold forums aimed at young people and people of sexual diversity, in order to gather opinions, experiences and proposals of these priority attention groups about affirmative actions.

President Councilor Patricia Avendaño supervises the internal audit of the IECM, a key step towards electoral ISO recertification.

On the other hand, for young people, the event will take place on Wednesday, November 12, at 10:00 a.m., at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, located in an extension of tocoming Canal de Miramontes, Coapa, San Bartolo el Chico, Tlalpan mayor’s office.

Meanwhile, for people of sexual and gender diversity, another forum will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at the Rights and Memory Laboratory, in the Glorieta de los Insurgentes, Juárez neighborhood, Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office, starting at 3:00 p.m.
