Grecia Quiroz García left the house of culture with her husband’s hat in her hand and went on stage under a strong security device. The independent mayor was flanked by her bodyguards dressed in suits, by elements of the National Guard and the Army, and by her family..

Quiroz García recalled that the day a 17-year-old teenager shot her husband, she could only pick up the hat from the floor. “But those who ordered Carlos Manzo to be killed did not know that this hat has an unstoppable and tireless force. “Today I also come to tell you that you would have to come and kill us all so that this struggle stops walking in the streets and stops supporting the most vulnerable people.”.
