Miguel Cadetdirector of BLITZ, went this Tuesday to present the second volume of the special magazine celebrating 40 years of BLITZ to the “Three in the Morning” programfrom Rádio Renascença, presented by Ana Galvão, Inês Lopes Gonçalves and Joana Marques.

This magazine marks the end of BLITZ’s 40th anniversary celebrations”, he begins by saying, “if [o primeiro volume] brought the 40 best Portuguese albums of the last 40 years, this one brings the 40 best international albums of the last 40 years. I can say they won Nirvana, com o ‘Nevermind’which may not have been such a big surprise, but it confirms that they are truly a phenomenon of the last 40 years”.

Recalling the history of BLITZ, Miguel Cadete highlights the continued relevance of the publication: “This started as a 16-page newspaperwhich cost 20 shieldswent on to magazineat a certain point, then we went online only and now we are online with a podcast and we have huge audience ratings, which means that the brand tells people anything. And it’s not just one generation, because it started 40 years ago, so I imagine it will passing through several generations”.

In addition to choosing the best 40 international albums of the last 40 years, the second volume of BLITZ 40 years also brings a story interview with Dave Grohl, Nirvana drummerduring the band’s first and only visit to Portugal, in 1994; the continuation of list of the best national albums of the last four decades; one great interview with Júlio Isidroan essential part of the Portuguese rock explosion at the beginning of the 80s; or a history, with images, of stadium concerts in Portugal.
