The searches off Caminha for three missing Indonesian fishermen at sea, after the fishing vessel they were traveling in sank on Sunday, were recovered this morning, said the local port captain.
“We are distributing the resources and the searches are now being resumed at 08:00. The helicopter is expected to arrive at 08:15”, specified commander Fernando Vieira Pereira of the Port of Caminha.
The vessel with five people on board sank at 12:20 pm on Sunday in a rocky area on the island of Ínsua, in Moledo, in the municipality of Caminha, district of Viana do Castelo.
Two of the five people were removed and transported to Viana do Castelo Hospital.
Fernando Vieira Pereira said this Monday that the searches will be reinforced by the Air Force with a fixed-wing maritime patrol plane and a helicopter, while on the water there will be the lifeguard team from the Viana do Castelo station.
Will join Spanish Maritime Rescue team will patrol from the border to the port of La Guardia and a forensic diving group from the Maritime Police, while the Volunteer Firefighters of Vila Praia de Âncora and Caminha will patrol on the beach on foot.
