Miguel Poiares Maduro guarantees that it was not one of Marques Mendes’ supporters who asked Cotrim to give up the presidential race, but the episode left a negative mark on him: “I had a worse impression about Cotrim.” Regarding labor reform, he regrets that the government did not try to implement it at the same time as a fiscal reform in terms of the labor market, but praises the UGT’s call to São Bento. At the end of this conversation he also leaves a message to Parliament and the government: “Portugal uses and abuses wiretapping because there are no instruments that other countries have for investigating corruption”.
