With 260 pages, the new guide “365 Tascas & Marisqueiras”, signed by Boa Cama Boa Mesa, hits newsstands on November 21st. Snacks, traditional popular cuisine dishes and seafood are the starting point for the publication, which guarantees a year filled with a plentiful table. Divided between 250 taverns and 115 seafood restaurants – each area with a distinctive cover -, the new guide presents suggestions organized by four major regions: North, Center, South and Islands.
The selection of 250 taverns followed the objective of presenting only authentic and popular places, where snacks and traditional dishes are served, from bifana to stew.
From north to south, without forgetting the Azores and Madeira archipelagos, there are suggestions ranging from taverns, with counter only, to popular restaurants, where you come in as a customer and leave as a friend. You go to some of these 250 places for their specialty, many for the atmosphere and all of them because they are a meeting point. It is mainly the lively conversations, the drinks and the good food, including snacks and hearty platters, that feed the taverns, taverns, eating houses, cafes and snack bars across the country.
There are simple places, which reflect Portuguese identity and culture, to eat well and cheaply.
In this new guide, the so-called modern taverns and taverns were not considered. This will be a future project of the Boa Cama Boa Mesa team.
In addition to traditional taverns, the new guide also presents a selection of 115 seafood restaurants, from the most popular to contemporary, the vast majority located by the sea.
