The American first lady, Melania Trump, revealed this Friday that she has personally negotiated with the Russian president, Vladimir Putinabout the thousands of children kidnapped by Russian forces after the invasion of Ukraine.
In an unexpected announcement from the Grand Foyer of the White House, Trump’s wife announced that has already managed to get eight of these minors have returned with their families.
Melania Trump declared to the press that “a lot has happened” since he sent a letter in August to Putin about the fate of these children.
He explained that the Russian president responded in writing indicating his “willingness to dialogue” with the first lady “directly” and had provided her with “details about the Ukrainian children residing in Russia.”
On August 17, Donald Trump made that letter public on his social network, Truth Social.
Was Trump himself who personally gave it to Putin before their meeting in Alaska last August 15. The Russian president immediately read it while the American and Russian delegations present there watched.
In the text, Melania Trump wrote: “Every child shares the same silent dreams in their hearts, whether born randomly in the rustic countryside of a nation or in a magnificent urban center. They dream of love, possibility, and safety from danger.”
He also noted that the world leaders have a duty that goes beyond their own countries: “By protecting the innocence of these children, you will do much more than just serve Russia, you will serve humanity.”
The writing of Melania Trump does not directly mention the war in Ukrainebut it does emphasize the importance of building a world of peace and dignity:
“Undoubtedly, we must strive to paint a world full of dignity for all, so that every soul awakens in peace and so that the future itself is perfectly protected.”
Melania also pointed out that Childhood innocence is maintained above “geography, government and ideology”and closed with a powerful request for Putin: “The time has come.”
