Manuel João Vieira shared some messages from “total dissatisfaction” to his presidential candidacy. The videos, recorded in a humorous tone, are presented in the traditional way of supporting a candidate, but instead of praising him, his friends decide to criticize him.
The first statement is from comedian Jel: “I do not support candidate Vieira because it seems to me that he is someone who is playing with the highest institutions in this country.”
Manuel Cruzvoice of Ornatos Violeta, is more direct in his ‘despaio’: “I don’t like red wine”, he explains, in an allusion to one of Vieira’s most publicized promises, channeled wine.
Lake Tripswho became famous over the last 20 years in Dead Combo and is now part of Club Makumba, is laconic: “I wouldn’t support candidate Vieira even if they paid me.”
The fourth statement is from the pianist, comic book author and film director Filipe Melooccasional collaborator of the candidate and creator of “O Mundo Catita”, a fictional series about Manuel João Vieira himself: “I don’t support candidate Vieira because one day I supported him and regretted it.”
Manuel João Vieira delivered last Wednesday to the Constitutional Court (TC) the mandatory signatures to formalize his presidential candidacy.
The musician and visual artist, lead singer of the bands Ena Pá 2000 and Irmãos Catita, gathered 12502 signatureshaving appeared at Palácio Ratton, in Lisbon, together with the actor David Almeidanational representative of the presidential candidacy on January 18th.
