In recent times Herman José celebrated 70 years of life, 50 years of career and 40 years of the mythical program “O Tal Canal”. The “25th of April of humor in Portugal”, as some call it, brought modernity to comedy in the country, greatly influenced by Monty Python.

The successes on television left an impression on the public, who at the time were still discovering colors. There are several phrases that have entered the daily vocabulary of the Portuguese: “eu é mais bolos”, “there was no need”, among others. Over time they became expressions that seem to have always existed and no one invented, but here is the author: Herman José.

He currently continues on RTP 1, with the program “Cá por Casa”, and insists on going on stage, even with a fractured shoulder and a ruptured Achilles tendon, as was the case this June, in Lourinhã, before a concert.
