On the last day of the Web Summit, two of the creators of Pinterest and Twitter (currently X), Evan Sharp and Biz Stone, came together to talk about life beyond the small screen. Together, they developed a new app that seeks to help people “live more intentionally”: Tangle. Life on Purpose
After the large social networks they created, both founders felt that something more was missing, ins yours lifes e no digital market. It was in this reflection that the concept for the new app.
Evan Sharp said that the inspiration also came from the famous children’s series “Sesame Street”. Similar to what the series’ producers did, the co-founders of Tangle brought together a team of psychologists and spirituality experts to help create a platform that would help people “live life with more purpose”.
According to a study presented by the two speakers, most people spend, on average, 40% of their waking time looking at screens. “Somewhere, there’s a dad staring at a screen, a kid downstairs staring at a screen, and a sad football in the garage that wants to be used,” says Evan.
Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), the application accesses the user’s calendar, or the user provides information, and analyzes the different social roles they play: mother, daughter, partner, among others. Based on this data, the application questions the user about which role they want to develop more and suggests three weekly tasks to improve the performance of one of the roles. For example, being a more attentive mother, a more understanding daughter or a more affectionate partner. “At the end of the week, the Tangle write a story about the week and remember everything”, even things that the user may have already forgotten, explains Biz Stone.
The application allows you to access a weekly summary of contacts and “an intimate view of how they are doing”, said the founders. For now, it is still in the experimental phase and only iOS users present at the Web Summit had access.
