Several flights were canceled or diverted after at least one drone was spotted today near Landvetter airport in Gothenburg, in the west of Swedenauthorities and the airport operator said.
“The airspace over Landvetter is currently closed due to the suspected presence of a drone,” said Susanne Norman, CEO of Swedish airport operator Swedavia, in a statement.
The control spokesman air traffic Swede, Bjorn Stavas, indicated that traffic was interrupted after at least one unmanned aircraft was spotted, shortly before 6pm local time (5pm Lisbon).

Earlier this week, the presence of unidentified drones in the main Brussels airport led to the cancellation of around 80 flights.
This week’s air traffic disruptions follow a recent series of drone overflights of sensitive airports and military installations in several European countries, including Germany ea Denmark.
Suspicions have arisen about Russia’s possible responsibility for the increase in drone activity in Europa.
Germany, one of Ukraine’s main supporters in its war against Russiaand Denmark accused Moscow of intensifying the use of drones over its essential infrastructure, which Moscow denied.
