The President of the European Council, Antonio Costatoday promised a “united and coordinated position” from the European Union (EU), at an informal meeting of the leaders of the 27 on the United States’ peace plan for Ukraine.
“I talked to [o Presidente ucraniano] Volodymyr Zelensky before this morning’s informal meeting of EU leaders on peace efforts in Ukraine, to get his assessment of the situation,” wrote António Costa on the social network X.
Before presiding over the informal high-level meeting, which takes place in Luanda on the sidelines of the EU-African Union (AU) summit and also via video conference for leaders who are not present in the Angolan capital, the president of European Council stressed: “A united and coordinated EU position is essential to guarantee a good outcome of the peace negotiations, for Ukraine and for Europe”.
António Costa invited the leaders of the 27 European Member States to a meeting today on the sidelines of the EU-AU summit, taking place in Luanda.
