DITCHLING – LISBON – ÉVORA – CHICAGO
If it were a joke, it could start like this: an admiral, a television commentator and other candidates enter an elevator. Some puppets have invisible strings, others are handled by puppeteers and puppeteers who show themselves to our eyes. These styles exist both in real life and in fiction, brought to the stage through the art of marionettes or puppets. But let’s ignore the fuss over power. Even without being animated by human voices, this big bad wolf shows us the power of puppets, which tells millennia of stories. This animal with sharp teeth was created by British sculptor Joseph Cribb (1892-1967). And it will be in the UK from March 28th to September 27th, at the Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft exhibition “Strings Attached”, about the art of puppetry in Ditchling.
