On Thursday there was a general strike and we followed tradition to the letter. For the unions, it was the biggest strike ever, to which 359 million workers joined. Workers from abroad came here to avoid working on Thursday. According to the government, 7 individuals went on strike. Rui, Paulo, Jorge, Telmo… And two of them had gastroenteritis, they didn’t even want to go on strike. They ate some mussels that weren’t good.

The most incredible thing is that this general strike is taking place at a time when the Prime Minister has promised to increase the national minimum wage to €1,500. And even so, the workers took to the streets to protest. “There I go, having to buy a bigger wallet.” There is no way to please these people. This promise of 1500 euros minimum wage on the eve of a general strike is that despair parents feel when their children misbehave in December: “look what Santa Claus is watching”
