The Head of the federal Executive condemned that the right, during the six-year term of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, criticized the efforts of the Morenista leader to get closer to youth and claimed that the fight against insecurity is achieved with a transversal strategy, in which prosecutors, judges and authorities participate.
“The right criticized a lot of this ‘hugs, not bullets’ thing, because they said it was an embrace of crime. False, no one ever raised that. The issue is that we have to get closer to the young people they called ‘NEETs’. No. We have to do everything in our power so that no young people get close to a criminal group, that is our vision. There have to be more schools, there has to be more attention, there has to be more culture, there has to be more sport, so that young people feel cared for and do not see in a delinquent group an option that in reality seems to give them resources and in the end is an option of death for all of them,” he concluded.
The right did not like “hugs, not bullets” because they said they were hugs for crime and it is FALSE.
The point is that you have to approach young people, not call them NEETs as they did in a derogatory way. pic.twitter.com/AZO2VbbxOy
