Three low-magnitude microearthquakes were recorded in Naucalpan and nearby areas of Mexico City that did not cause any damage, authorities indicated.
Mexico City, November 20 (However).- The National Seismological Service (SSN) record three microseisms con epicenter in Naucalpan, State of Mexicoduring the afternoon of this Thursday, which occurred with few minutes difference and originated from shallow depth.
The authorities detailed that the first earthquake It occurred at 4:36 p.m. with a magnitude of 2.3 degrees and a location close to the coordinates 19.45 latitude y -99.25 of the length. Inhabitants of Naucalpan reported on social networks that this movement was felt briefly, but they described it as a characteristic jerk of superficial earthquakes.

Later, the SSN reported that, at 4:43 p.m., the second microseism was detected with a magnitude of 2.5 degrees and a depth of approximately one kilometer. This movement was the most noticeable of the day and generated warnings in different neighboring areas of Mexico City, mainly in neighborhoods of the Miguel Hidalgo Mayor’s Office.
At 4:45 p.m., the agency recorded a third earthquake of 1.6 degrees, whose epicenter was also located in Naucalpan. Although its magnitude was smaller, some residents confirmed that they were able to perceive a slight vibration, while others pointed out that the movement was very brief and did not cause widespread alarm.

Meanwhile, residents of Polanco, Lomas de Sotelo and San Pedro Xalpa indicated that they felt the movements of different intensity; Some even described that the ground shook suddenly, which led them to evacuate offices and businesses as a precaution.
The municipal authorities of Naucalpan activated Civil Protection protocols to inspect areas where vibrations were reported, in order to review public properties and answer calls from neighbors who requested guidance.

So far, the local governments of Naucalpan and Miguel Hidalgo have not recorded material damage or incidents related to the microearthquakes. The authorities confirmed that there are no effects on public services and that operations on roads, shops and transportation remain normal.
