MEXICO.- The Mexican authorities arrested in the border city of Tijuana, Baja Californiaa seven people who carried weapons for the exclusive use of the Army and dismantled a laboratory for the manufacture of methamphetamines.
In a statement, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) reported that the arrest occurred during reconnaissance, security and surveillance tours in the municipality of Tijuana, where agents observed a van with California license plates, with five crew members and two more people on foot.
“When we stopped them, they adopted an evasive attitude, so to rule out any illegal activity, a security inspection was carried out,” the agency said.

In a publication on his social networks, the head of the SSPC, Omar García Harfuchspecified that the arrest occurred in four different actions in Tecate, Baja Californiawhen elements of the Mexican Army, its secretariat, the Attorney General’s Office and the state Attorney General’s Office arrested seven people, seizing nine firearms, various chemical precursors and the dismantling of a laboratory for the production of methamphetamines.
“More than a thousand liters of precursors and more than 100 kg of chemical precursors were seized,” he noted.
The SSPC stressed that the detainees were left disposal of the Public Ministry agent corresponding, who will determine your legal situation.
According to official figures, the ‘Operation Northern Border‘ of Mexico, agreed with the United States, the Mexican Government has detained 8,453 people.
