MEXICO CITY.- Omar García HarfuchSecretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), reported that they arrested in Durango, Edgar “N”, “Lemons”a member of the criminal organization “Los Cabrera”, similar to “Los Mayos” of the Pacific cartel.
The event occurred as a result of joint work between the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), Secretary of Defense (Defense) and the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR).
Through his X account, Secretary Harfuch stated that the arrest of “Limones” constitutes a direct blow to extortion networks. He explained that they were investigating him for extort merchants and ranchersas well as for operating the group’s finances.
“The FIU identified irregular operations related to extortion and fraud,” he wrote in X.
During the action, long weapons, a grenade and tactical equipment were seized.
“Lemons” was also Secretary of Organization of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM) in Durango.
In fact, in the last few hours a strong operation was reported between elements of the Navy Secretariat and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) at the CATEM offices in Gómez Palacio, Durango. The authorities have cordoned off the site for at least two blocks around it.
Who is “Lemons”?
Investigations place him as head of plaza The Cabreras in the Laguna region of Durango and Coahuila, in addition to placing it at the second level of the criminal structure, under the orders of José Luis Cabrera Sarabia, “El 03” or “El 300”.
“Limones” handled million-dollar deposits of unjustified origin, transferred money to companies related to laundering operations and participated in the sale and purchase of real estate, luxury vehicles, jewelry, watches and gambling.
In a statement, the Security Cabinet reported that, after gathering evidence, a Control Judge authorized the intervention of several properties. Security elements carried out coordinated operations on properties in Coahuila and Durango, where they detained several people, including Edgar “N.”
