Mexico City, December 6 (However).- The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reported on Friday that 10 people were arrested in Michoacán, from whom eight were seized armas of fire, 438 cartridges, five kilograms of marihuanavarious doses of methamphetamine and five vehicles.
Within the framework of “Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice”, the federal authorities explained that reconnaissance on foot and patrols in avocado and lemon orchards are still maintained, as well as visits to packing plants, markets and citrus industries in the municipalities of Nuevo San Juan Parangaricutiro, Villa Madero, Zitácuaro and Apatzingán, in order to provide security and confidence to the workers and owners of the establishments.
In this sense, the Security Cabinet highlighted that, from November 10 to December 4, 2025, 165 people have been arrested, 68 firearms, 7,409 cartridges, 375 magazines, 145 vehicles, 90 explosive devices, 53 kilos of explosive material, 28 kilos of marijuana, 426 kilos of methamphetamine, 28,800 liters and 7,300 kilos of chemicals for the production of synthetic drugs, 10 camps and 30 clandestine intakes disabled.

Elements of the Secretariat of National Defense (Defense) and the National Guard (GN) have participated in these actions, in coordination with the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) and the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
On November 30, the Security Cabinet offered a press conference to present the progress of the “Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice”, which was implemented by the Government of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo following the murder of the Mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, who was shot dead during a public event on November 1.
The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, reported that as part of the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice, a total of 2,514 reinforcement elements arrived at the entity, belonging to the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, the Secretariat of the Navy and the SSPC.
“On instructions from the President, we will continue visiting municipalities, productive sectors and local authorities of Michoacán to monitor progress, strengthen coordination and listen directly to citizens,” said García Harfuch.
On the other hand, Harfuch explained that on November 18, Jorge Armando “N”, alias “El Licensed”, was arrested, who was identified as the alleged intellectual author of the murder of the Municipal President of Uruapan, in addition to allegedly coordinating the cell that carried out the attack through an encrypted messaging application.
In addition, seven members of the Municipal Police who made up the Mayor’s first circle of bodyguards were arrested after being accused of failing to fulfill their duty to protect the official.
In turn, a subject identified as Jaciel Antonio “N” was captured, who is allegedly responsible for recruiting people admitted to rehabilitation centers to join criminal cells; According to the investigations, this man would have recruited two of the subjects who participated in the murder of Manzo.
