This Thursday, the Chief Executive will travel in the evening to Washington DC, United States (US), aboard an Air Force plane to participate in the 2026 World Cup draw, and hold a brief meeting with her counterpart Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. It will be the President’s first face to face with the Republican magnate, who despite publicly showing admiration for Sheinbaum has questioned Mexico multiple times for its fight against drug trafficking.

The meeting will also occur at the same time as one of the most tense moments between the United States and Venezuela, and after Trump declared this week that any country that produces and traffics drugs to his Nation “is subject to attacks.”
Businessmen support Sheinbaum

Yesterday, Sheinbaum Pardo met with businessmen at the National Palace to discuss economic issues and promote a council for the promotion of investments within the framework of Plan Mexico. In the meeting with the representatives of the private initiative, economic issues related to the opportunities that the Government of Mexico is promoting to encourage development were addressed.
Sheinbaum emphasized that there will be a permanent dialogue with the business sector of Mexico with the purpose of forming an additional work space with the public Administration to accelerate and give greater follow-up to mixed investment projects in the country.
“So, next year there will be much more investment than what we had this year for roads, ports, airports, trains, water. So, public infrastructure, fundamental for the development of the country and then what has to do with Plan Mexico, which is to strengthen value chains,” the President noted this morning, when addressing the topic.
