Emmanuel Macron’s visit is the first by a French President to Mexico in the last 11 years.

Mexico City, November 7 (However).- The President of France, Emmanuel Macronarrived early this morning Friday a Mexico for an official meeting with his counterpart Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo in National Palace. His arrival marks the beginning of a diplomatic day focused on cooperation between both countries.

Around 00:50 hours, the French president landed with his delegation at the Military Air Base No. 19 of the Mexico City International Airport (AICM). At the scene he was received by Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Juan Ramon de la Fuenterepresenting the Government of Mexico.

The federal president reported that during the bilateral meeting one of the main topics will be the creation of a special commission aimed at recovering the Azcatitlan and Borbonicus codices. These documents contain stories about the founding of Mexico-Tenochtitlan and the history of the Mexica people.

Likewise, he explained that this initiative seeks to establish a formal dialogue with the French Government to facilitate the return of said historical manuscripts to Mexico. He pointed out that these are pieces of great cultural relevance that are part of the national heritage.

Sheinbaum specified that the meeting with Macron integrates a cultural, scientific and economic agenda, so the purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation in various strategic areas between France and Mexico.
