Sheinbaum reaches its highest level of approval among people aged 65 and over, with 86 percent positive opinions about his management.

Mexico City, December 5 (However).- The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardocomes to meet him with his US counterpart (EU), Donald Trumpwith the 74 percent of approval between the populationaccording to the pollster Enkoll hired by The Country.

Sheinbaum thus maintains its popularity levelwith just two points less than what was recorded in December 2024when after three months of Government he held the 76 percent of approval.

Among the greatest achievements that people highlighted about Sheinbaum’s management is the provision of social support to women and older adults, which represented 38 percent of the mentions. However, the persistence of insecurity and crime are among what 21 percent of the population surveyed described as their “biggest mistake.”

According to the statistical study, 45 percent of the population estimated that crime is the main problem facing Mexico; 20 percent said it is economic problems such as lack of growth and jobs, and 16 percent reported corruption as the most important issue.

It is relevant to note that, when breaking down what people consider as insecurity, 40 percent mentioned that it refers to robberies and assaults; 14 percent said they were talking about murders and only 11 percent pointed to drug trafficking and organized crime.

Regarding high-impact cases such as the murder of the Mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, 51 percent of those surveyed reported that the response of Claudia Sheinbaum’s Government was bad, while 36 percent responded that it was good.

Who supports the President the most?

The age group of 65 years and older is where the Head of the federal Executive achieves the highest approval, with 86 percent of positive opinions about her management. On the other hand, in the group that includes young people between 18 and 24 years old, the president reached 61 percent approval, the lowest level by age group.

By educational level, Sheinbaum Pardo’s approval reached 81 percent among people with primary school as the last level of schooling, while it dropped to 60 percent among those who reported having higher education.

Among those affiliated with Morena, the President has 94 percent approval, while for those who call themselves non-partisan, this category is at 57 percent.

It should be noted that among those who are affiliated with the National Action Party (PAN), a party opposed to the federal government, favorable opinions towards Sheinbaum outweigh unfavorable ones, since the Morenista achieved 55 percent approval among PAN members compared to 44 percent disapproval, according to Enkoll.

Among members of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), Sheinbaum obtained 60 percent acceptance.

Finally, 62 percent considered that the country’s situation “is improving,” compared to 34 percent who considered that everything remains the same or “is getting worse.”
