Mexico City, November 13 (However).- The President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo congratulated this Thursday the former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) for his 72nd birthday through two messages in which he showed his recognition and affection.
One of the messages was spread in the morning, when Sheinbaum Pardo He published a dedication on his official X account to recognize the political career of Lopez Obrador by describing him as the manager y social fighter most notable in the modern history of the country.
“Today we congratulate President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on his 72nd birthday. He is the most important political leader and social fighter in modern history; he began the Fourth Transformation for the benefit of the people of Mexico. Our recognition and affection extend to Palenque, Chiapas,” the president wrote.
The message was accompanied by a photograph in which he appears next to the former president, which generated reactions among the followers of both, who remembered the years of working together within the political movement that they lead.

During his morning conference at the National Palace, Sheinbaum had expressed his congratulations and sent an affectionate greeting to the former Tabasco president. In his speech, he expressed his wish that AMLO celebrate a birthday in the company of his family.
“We send our affectionate greetings to former President López Obrador, may he have a good time on his birthday. I hope he is with his family. From here to Palenque, our recognition always,” commented the President.
After these words, the Chief Executive asked for applause for the former president, who gave her the presidential sash on October 1 of last year, before retiring from public life.
Who is AMLO?
Andrés Manuel López Obrador was born on November 13, 1953 in Tepetitán, municipality of Macuspana, Tabasco. He served as President of Mexico from December 1, 2018 to September 30, 2024, when Claudia Sheinbaum assumed office.
The former president, a graduate of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (FCPyS) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), began his career supporting the candidacy of the poet Carlos Pellicer to the Senate for Tabasco. In 1977 he was appointed director of the Tabasco Indigenous Institute, where he promoted projects in favor of Chontal communities.
In 1984 he served as director of Social Promotion of the National Consumer Institute and, years later, between 1996 and 1999, he was president of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD).
López Obrador ran three times for the Presidency of the Republic. Finally, in 2018 he won with 53.19 percent of the votes, which marked the beginning of the so-called Fourth Transformation (Q4).
Since his retirement, the former president resides on his ranch in Palenque, Chiapas, where he dedicates his time to writing. In 2024 he published his book ¡Gracias! and is currently working on a new work.
