The Secretary of the Navy detained 54 people in Colima and seized weapons, drugs, vehicles and properties during joint operations carried out in four municipalities of the state.
Mexico City, November 18 (However).- The Secretary of the Navy (Semar) arrested this Tuesday 54 alleged members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) during a series of operational carried out in the municipalities of Manzanillo, Tecoman, Villa de Alvarez y Colimawho would be related to criminal activities. This as part of the actions of security deployed in the entity.
According to the agency, the staff of the Sixth Naval Region performed tours surveillance in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Colima Public Security Secretariat and the Manzanillo Public Security Directoratewhich made it possible to ensure various objects related to the research. Among them:
- Two short weapons.
- Two handmade weapons.
- 18 bladed weapons.
- One magazine and 17 cartridges.
- 268 doses with characteristics of methamphetamine.
- Five wrappers and two bags of marijuana-like herb.
- Five properties.
- A unipolar antenna.
- Two computers.
- Nine cell phones.
- Two communication radios.
- A truck reported stolen.
- Eight motorcycles.
Likewise, Semar pointed out that all the detained people were placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry, which will integrate the corresponding investigation folders and define the legal situation of each of those involved.
According to the authorities, the operations are part of the “Pez Vela 2025” strategy, which seeks to inhibit criminal activities and strengthen security in the municipalities that register the highest incidence of violence in the entity.
The agency recalled that, since last week, it increased its presence in Colima to prevent the displacement of criminal groups from Michoacán, where federal forces maintain a special deployment due to the levels of violence recorded in that region.

The Sixth Naval Region reiterated that citizens can make anonymous complaints to official numbers and through citizen participation links, in order to support the security work that is carried out in coordination with authorities at the three levels of Government.
