The United Nations is committed to carrying out the functions entrusted to it in the resolution, expanding humanitarian assistance to meet the needs of the civilian population in Gaza and supporting all efforts for the parties to advance towards the next phase of the ceasefire,” said its spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric.

The Portuguese took the opportunity to praise the “continuous” diplomatic efforts undertaken by the mediators in the conflict Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, the United States, as well as regional countries, although he noted the “importance of advancing” the plan proposed by Washington so that it results in a “political process to achieve the two-state solution”, in line with resolutions previously approved by the United Nations.
