PROGRESS.— In Independencia Park there is a bus from the Institute of Adult Education of the State of Yucatán (Ieaey), which offers the opportunity to people over 18 years of age to finish primary and secondary education with just one exam.
According to the area coordinator of this program, Fredy Pineda López, the Ieaey has an agreement with the Traxión foundation to bring education closer to the inhabitants of the state.
“It is like a mobile community plaza that will be in Yucatán for a year, visiting various municipalities, offering the possibility for adults who have not completed primary and secondary school to receive their certificates through a knowledge test, which is more like a survey because it is part of what the adult already knows about their daily lives,” he explained.
After taking and passing the exam, in a month or a month and a half people will receive their certificate, which is free. The unit will be parked on one side of the park on 83rd Street from yesterday, Monday, the 27th, until next Saturday, November 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Whoever wishes to complete primary school must present copies of CURP, birth certificate, INE and proof of address. For secondary school, the same documentation is delivered plus the primary certificate.
Pineda López mentioned that the truck also functions as a kind of community plaza, since it has laptops and internet so that people can use the equipment to get their CURP, carry out some paperwork or do some school work in case they do not have a computer.
The vehicle will visit Acanceh from November 3 to 5 and will arrive at the Xmatkuil fair on the 6th of that month to offer its services.— Abraham Ismael Raz Herrera
