Nancy Pelosi outlined an extensive political career over almost four decades that placed her as one of the most influential voices in the Democratic Party.

Los Angeles, November 6 (LaOpinión).- At 85 years old and after spending almost half of his life in the House of Representatives, Nancy Patricia Pelosi announced that he will not seek re-election for another term.

“I tell my colleagues in the House all the time, no matter what title they have given me—speaker, leader, whip (disciplinary officer)—there has been no greater honor for me than to stand on the House floor and say, ‘I speak for the people of San Francisco.’ I have truly loved serving as your voice in Congress, and have always honored San Francisco’s song, ‘Lord, Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace,’ our city’s anthem. That’s why I want you, my fellow San Franciscans, to be the first to know. “I will not seek re-election to Congress,” he said.

In her resume, Nancy Pelosi can boast of being the first and to date only woman to have served as speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

Since Donald Trump decided to run for the Presidency, the brave woman became one of his main detractors, projecting him as a threat to democracy for playing the role of dictator.
Pelosi’s most recent contribution to strengthening the Democrats was the boost she gave to Proposition 50, a redistricting strategy promoted in California aimed at giving them more seats for the midterm elections to be held next year.
