With three different initiatives for the creation of the Yucatan Autism Law and the constant pressure from the promoters of this future law, the deputies of the United Commissions on Health and Social Security, and Human Development and Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups yesterday they approved the realization of a open parliament for one public consultation on this topic.
Given the repeated complaints of the PAN member Ángel David Valdez Jiménez, who reiterated that his initiative had been going on for more than eight months without significant progress, and a third proposal from the emecista Larissa Acosta Escalante for the creation of the Autism Law, The assembly was approved for next Friday the 28th at a venue to be designated.
In several interventions, Valdez Jiménez stated that The autism law is urgent in Yucatan and that the only thing missing was political will, because the technical part of this future law was already made by the deputies with their three initiatives.
“I have learned two lessons in this Congress: when you want you can, and when you don’t want to, any reason is enough not to do it,” he said.
“It has been eight months since I presented the initiative and the open parliament has barely been approved for a rapprochement with the citizens. Clara (Paola Rosales Montiel, from the Morena party and president of the united commissions), Larissa and I are going to enter the open parliament, we are going to listen to the families, it has to be a truly open call to society, but we must pass the autism law now”.
As part of the pressure against this united commission, the PAN deputy presented at the time of the ordinary session a calendar of dates for the analysis, discussion and approval of the opinion in commission and its subsequent referral to the plenary session of Congress, with the request that it not exceed this period of the year.
“The ball is already in the Legislature’s court, we have to finish it,” he stated.
“I reiterate my willingness to Larissa so that we promote this law. I have recognized the Jalisco orange bench for the work it does. They have an autism center in Zapopan that is synonymous with quality and efficiency. That is what it is about, not about seeing colors, but about seeing results. This issue is urgent.”
“I sent this comparison of the initiative to all the deputies and today Deputy Larissa joins in with the proposal of a mixed fund to address autism, to have networks of state centers. They are very good proposals.”

“I ask you with all due respect that just as you give speed and celerity to other issues, you give the same to the issue of autism,” said Valdez Jiménez.
“I am not asking for something that has not been done. We have the three proposals, we agree and we have the same motives and purposes. More than 80% of the content of the initiatives coincide, we are going to show that we are interested with actions and facts.”
The Morenoist deputy Clara Rosales Montiel He blamed the previous legislature and highlighted that there was not much drive and courage for the issue of autism because if not, there would already be an autism law.

“We are going to analyze it before approving the budget. There are already three initiatives, it is important to listen to the parents of these people,” said Melba Gamboa Ávila.
Given this achievement, the deputy Javier Osante Solisfrom Movimiento Ciudadano, stressed that Valdez Jiménez promotes the initiative and “this is how we should fight for causes, because otherwise the person has nothing to do in politics.”
