In a press conference, the Head of Government of the CdMx, Clara Brugada, pointed out that the opposition was behind the march of “Generation Z” and that, despite their attempts to create a narrative of repression, they did not achieve their objective.
Mexico City, November 17 (However).- The Head of Government of Mexico City (CdMx), Clara Brugada Molinaargued that the opposition failed in its attempt to create a narrative that in Mexico There is repression and that the youth are not happy with the Fourth Transformation (4T). This, as a result of what happened during the call “Generation Z”.
This afternoon, the capital government held a press conference with the aim of reporting on the mobilization that took place on Saturday, November 15, when thousands of people took to the streets of the capital to protest against violence in the country and other issues; However, the event gave way to acts of violence in the Plinth.
According to what Brugada Molina pointed out, the purpose of those who committed such acts of violence had two main objectives: To make it appear that a huge number of people are against the 4T and to create a narrative of repression by the CdMx Government. In both cases, the capital president stated, the purpose was not achieved.
“That is what we see that they tried: to position an image that it was a great movement against the governments of the Fourth Transformation and, on the other hand, that the response was with repression,” said the Head of Government.
Regarding the size of the “Generation Z” mobilization, the capital’s president pointed out that the number of attendees was lower than at other events, in addition to the fact that, at no time, was the Zócalo square filled.
“It is false that there is a large movement of the ‘Generation Z’ against the Fourth Transformation. We say it very clearly. It is the opposition hidden with this letterhead. We did not see the young people, we did not see a movement of majority young people who could be having causes, demands,” commented the Head of Government during her conference.
In the case of the repression that was sought, Clara Brugada stated that the police force that was assigned to monitor the march had the mandate of containing any possible act of violence, but never of repressing the protesters.
“When we say this, it is very clear because the Police were not armed. The Police had their protective equipment and nothing else. They were not used, as in other parts of the world or when the demonstrations were repressed before here in Mexico, rubber bullets, batons, water cannons or other types of tools,” he mentioned.
