The authorities stated that the detainees could be related to recent violent events that occurred in the Tula-Tepeji region.

Mexico City, November 7 (However).- The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Hidalgo (FIND OUT) and troops of the State Police they stopped the past November 5 in the municipality of Atotonilco of Tula, Hidalgoa 23 alleged members by one criminal group dedicated to drug dealingthe extortion and the hydrocarbon theft.

The arrest was possible thanks to complaints that reported the presence of armed people aboard vsuspicious vehicles who were in the surroundings of the Real de Castilla urban subdivision. Upon the arrival of security agents to the place where this large group was, the alleged criminals tried to flee without success.

The operation was carried out simultaneously in several properties, where ministerial agents and tactical units carried out searches with the corresponding court orders authorizing said action.

In these actions, firearms, magazines, useful cartridges and packaged drugs ready for distribution were seized. During the intervention, eight long weapons and four short weapons were seized, all supplied and ready for use, in addition to magazines, useful cartridges, 1,263 doses of synthetic drugs with crystal characteristics and 313 doses of alleged cocaine.

The Attorney General’s Office reported that four ballistic vests, thirteen cell phones, six vehicles and a motorcycle were also seized. Everything seized, along with the detainees, was placed at the disposal of the PGJEH.

The action was coordinated with various security corporations and it was reported that the detainees could be related to recent violent events that occurred in the Tula-Tepeji region, which is why judicial processes with several lines of investigation remain open.

The detainees will be placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Hidalgo (PGJEH) to continue with the corresponding investigations.

The Secretary of Government, Guillermo Olivares Reyna, stated in a press conference that “progress is being made in the cleanup of criminals who come to the state and the affirmation that Hidalgo is not fertile ground for crime is being reaffirmed.”

“It is a fight that we are winning and of course all this in favor of the high commitment that the Governor has to provide peace and tranquility to all of the people of Hidalgo,” concluded the official.
