With the participation of more than 50 women legal professionals, the National Action Party in Yucatán presented the Network of Lawyers in Action.
The Network was defined as “a space for articulation, training and legal support that is part of a national strategy to strengthen the defense of women’s political rights.”
At the event, the state president of the PAN, Álvaro Cetina Puerto, indicated that after the renewal of the party all efforts will be focused on building a solid electoral strategy towards 2027, based on territorial presence, organization and permanent training.
“This Network of Lawyers is a priority part of that strategy,” he added. “We are on the eve of an electoral reform that seeks to centralize the electoral bodies, as in the eighties. That is why we must be ready to defend the will of the people and give new impetus to Yucatán in the next elections.”
Cetina Puerto recognized the participation of the women of the Network and considered them a key piece in strengthening the PAN towards the next electoral process.
“This effort not only has a legal dimension, but also a human and social dimension; it represents the new face of the PAN: a party that listens, accompanies and defends,” he said.
The Secretary of Political Promotion of Women, Ingrid Santos Díaz, reported that Yucatán is the third state in the country to join this national strategy, whose purpose goes beyond the electoral sphere.
“As women we have the sensitivity to accompany and denounce acts of political gender violence, which unfortunately many councilors and opposition officials face in municipalities governed by Morena,” she stated.— ÁNGEL NOH ESTRADA
