Despite this, the business leader declared that the sector is not opposed to public mobilizations as long as they take place peacefully and without acts of vandalism, since these incidents generate economic losses and put the safety of workers, citizens and visitors at risk.
Likewise, he stated that violent events must be addressed through legal actions, because those who participate in looting or attacks must face the consequences established by the Law, especially when mobilizations are taken advantage of to commit crimes.

“Mexicans must send a clear and forceful message against the violence sown by criminal groups. The construction of democracy is not carried out by justifying the looting of commercial establishments as acts of social protest. Those who carry it out are simple criminals or members of criminal groups who must face the action of justice,” he expressed.
For his part, jewelry merchant Sergio Subich mentioned that in recent marches, shock groups that act during protests have been detected, which is why he considered it necessary for police authorities to apply containment protocols to avoid damage to property or attacks on citizens.
“The businessmen of Zócalo and Madero support free expression and marches, as long as they are peaceful. Sadly, riot groups and organized crime have infiltrated the last few marches. We consider it necessary for the police to carry out the necessary action protocols so that the members of these groups are stopped from causing destruction and are prosecuted as the law stipulates,” said Sergio Subich.
The merchants reiterated their support for free expression and peaceful demonstrations. However, they asked the organizers of upcoming protests to reject any act of looting or violence, and asked the authorities to strengthen security measures to prevent new incidents in the area.
