Mechanical game at the Xmatkuil Fair is derailed; no injuries reported

MÉRIDA, Yucatán.— An accident occurred in the Yucatan Fair in Xmatkuilafter the crazy cups mechanical gamealso known as “Swirl”left the rail with two people on board.

After the incident, the game was closed.

The events occurred in second weekend of XmatkuilSaturday night.
Shortly afterwards, the malfunction of one of the mechanical games installed at that annual fair was recognized.

In his social network account “X”, formerly Twitter, Procivy assured that, “Security is not negotiated” and adds that they carry out a constant review at the Xmatkuil 2025 International Fair.

He explains that, “Derived from a citizen report spread on social networks, where a possible failure was observed in a mechanical game within the fair, the State Civil Protection Coordination immediately proceeded to preventively suspend the game. This measure was taken with a single objective: to protect the integrity of all attendees.”

Procivy also reported that, “Our staff carries out a technical inspection on site and will continue to verify strict compliance with maintenance orders, civil liability insurance and mandatory daily inspections.”

“We thank citizens for trusting and reporting any risk situation. Their participation is essential to act promptly and prevent incidents,” said Yucatán Civil Protection.
