MÉRIDA.- With an atmosphere full of joy, lights and tradition, the Merida International Airport officially started the holiday season with the emotional lighting of their Christmas tree.

A moment that brought together passengers, collaborators and the families that make up the great airport community, who gathered to share the festive spirit that characterizes these dates.

Adorned with warm colors and bright spheres, the tree was illuminated at 5:00 p.m., unleashing applause and smiles among children and adults who celebrated this symbolic start to the Christmas season accompanied by a children’s show.

The event was chaired by the Airport Administrator, Lic. Óscar Carrillo Maldonado.

Carrillo Maldonado addressed a welcome message highlighting the joint effort of all the staff to create a warm and festive atmosphere that best welcomes the thousands of visitors who will pass through the terminal during the month of December.

He also recognized the presence of the workers’ families, emphasizing that their support and accompaniment are a fundamental part of the human strength of the airport.

Throughout the terminal, attendees were able to tour spaces decorated with wreaths, Christmas figures, traditional arrangements and corners specially designed for photographs, which turn the airport into a setting full of magic for those traveling or accompanying their loved ones.

With this celebration, the Mérida International Airport reaffirms its commitment to offering a close, human and festive experience to all who cross its doors.
