The Kremlin clarified that it did not reject the peace proposal presented by US envoys, despite the fact that some points remain unacceptable to Moscow.
MADRID, December 3 (EUROPA PRESS).- The Kremlin denied this Wednesday that the Russian president, Vladimir Putinrejected the peace proposal of the administration of Donald Trump to Ukraineafter the meeting that took place the day before in Moscow with the special envoys of Washington Steve Witko y Jared Kushner.
“It is not correct,” said the spokesman for the Kremlin, Dimitri Peskovwho explained that while some points have been accepted, others are “unacceptable” to Moscow. However, he noted that this is “a normal work process to reach an agreement,” according to the agency. TASS.
Peskov noted that Tuesday’s meeting, which lasted about five hours, was the “first time” there had been “such a direct exchange of views” since negotiations to end the war began.
Peskov’s statements are in line with those used in recent hours by President Putin’s advisor, Yuri Ushakov, who assessed some of the American proposals as “more or less acceptable”, while others, however, “are unacceptable.”
For their part, Washington mentioned that although “some progress” was achieved in these latest talks held in Moscow, the situation remains in the hands of President Putin.
