Governor Andy Beshear confirmed the state’s response on Wednesday, issuing a state of emergency to ensure emergency crews and affected families receive support without delay.
“This allows us to move resources more quickly through emergency management and through the Kentucky National Guard,” the governor said. “It allows state resources to be used also through our agencies to be readily available, including disaster resource management, expenses related to response and more, as well as reimbursement.”

The crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. as the plane attempted its departure. Video captured flames on the left wing and a trail of smoke before the aircraft skidded off the runway and erupted into flames.
