Mexico City, November 3 (However).- The President of Peru, José Jeríannounced an expulsion order against the person in charge of the Mexican Embassy in Lima, Karla Ornelasafter the Government of said country declared a break in relations with Mexico because the the spokesperson of the Minister Betsy Chávezwho is being investigated for the 2022 coup attempt, took refuge in the residence of the aforementioned complex.
Through his X account, the president reported that Karla Ornelas has a peremptory deadline to abandon Peruwhile the Minister of Foreign Affairs reported that the decision is “regrettable, but inevitable” due to the “persistent and unacceptable position” of the Government of Mexico for granting refuge to the former chief of staff of the former president Pedro Castillo.
