Some journalists who covered the “Generation Z” march in Mexico City reported that they were beaten and even robbed by protesters.
Mexico City, November 16 (However).- Journalists y civilians reported having been victims of assaults of police y assaults committed by protesters who participated in the march of the “Generation Z“which took place on Saturday at the Mexico City (CdMx) and in others states.
This movement was marked by the clashes that occurred between elements of the police capital and civilians who tried to remove the fences that protected the Palacio National.
The Secretary of Citizen Security of the capital (SSC-CdMx) reported that as a result of these violent events, nearly 100 uniformed officers were injured, 40 of whom required transfer to the hospital, while 20 people were detained.

In addition to those in uniform, journalists who covered the mobilizations of “Generation Z” in Mexico City and other entities were the target of attacks by the police and even assaults committed by individuals who were supposedly part of the contingent of protesters.
In the capital, a reporter from Proceso and a photographer from La Jornada reported that they were attacked by capital police when they were trying to evict the people present in the Zócalo square after the mobilization concluded.
On the other hand, a photojournalist from El Sol de México and two from La Prensa who were covering the mobilization were assaulted by a group of hooded individuals, who beat them and later stripped them of their cameras, equipment and personal belongings.

Videos and photographs of citizens who were injured during the demonstration also circulated on social networks, some due to attacks carried out by the police themselves.
Bloody faces and police confronting protesters with the help of fire extinguishers and their shields were the images that stood out the most and that generated great controversy not only in the capital, but in other entities of the country where mobilizations were also recorded.
The different attacks recorded during the march were cause for condemnation by the federal government and state authorities, as well as by the Judiciary.
