Antonio Bravo is the second militant related to Senator Beatriz Mojica who is murdered this month in Iguala, Guerrero.

Mexico City, October 27 (ElSur).- The Senator warrior Beatriz Mojica Morga reported this Monday of the murder of former mayor interim in Teloloapan and his collaborator nearby, Antonio “Toño” Bravo Salgadowhich occurred at midnight this Sunday in the Río Balsas neighborhood of the municipality of Match, Guerrero.
This morning the legislator Mojica Morga regretted the crime in a statement. He said Bravo was part of his equipmentdescribed him as a citizen committed to his community and asked justice.
Bravo is the second militant close to the Senator to be murdered this month in Iguala, after lawyer Anselmo Campuzano Martínez was chased and shot to death on October 3, in streets near the center of the municipality.
According to the first versions, “Toño” Bravo was beheaded and his body was found around midnight inside an apartment he rented on Francisco Márquez Street, in the settlement located near the Periférico Oriente de Iguala.
According to an unofficial version, after the murder there was a robbery at the victim’s apartment and his car was also stolen.
According to information from police sources, since Saturday Bravo was without communication with his relatives, after attending the El Mitote del Tehuehue festival. When they searched for him in his apartment, they found him dead.
Bravo was a lawyer, originally from Teloloapan, a municipality in which he was alternate and interim mayor for a few days for former mayor Efrén Romero Sotelo.
He had been a PRD councilor in the government of Ignacio Valladares Salgado and treasurer in the administration of the current local deputy, Robell Uriostegui Patiño.
In addition, he was a close collaborator of Senator Mojica. Since the June 2021 elections, he renounced his PRD militancy to join the ranks of Morena.
Mojica asks for justice
In the statement, Mojica said that “Toño was a man of work, of principles and of service. His loss represents not only a personal pain, but also a wound to the community. I strongly reject any form of violence, wherever it comes from, and I demand from the authorities a serious, transparent and effective investigation that allows the facts to be clarified and those responsible to be punished. Impunity only fuels fear and weakens citizen confidence in the institutions.”
The Senator indicated that Bravo’s memory must be honored with the demand for truth and justice, in addition to sending solidarity with the victim’s family and that hate crimes should have no place in society.
