With a special Dragon Ball in which there will be the presence of prominent dubbing actors who are part of that franchise, as well as the Visit for the first time in Mexico of one japanese studio that will offer details of the film that will premiere in next january and many other activities, this weekend the last edition of the year will be held Tsunami Merida Comic Con.
The event will take place on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th in it Siglo XXI Convention Center, and seeks to bring together the best of anime, cosplay, K-pop, comics and video games, in what is the “largest and most important” convention of the industry in the Southeast.
The last edition of 2025 is loaded with multiple activities and guests, including voice actors, influencers, content creators, artists, cosplayers and dance covers, in addition to 150 exhibitors from the most recognized stores in the country.
It is a Dragon Ball special edition so there will be several guests who provide the voices of the characters from the anime series, both from the first installment and from “Dragon Ball Z”, “Dragon Ball Super” y “Dragon Ball Daima”.
This was announced by organizers and participants in the event, including Cristina Pérez Palomar, Tsunami coordinator, who explained that there will be the presence of Mario Castañeda, voice of Goku in Dragon Ball, Black Goku, Bardock and Gogeta in Dragon Balland many other characters in animes such as Demon Slayer, Naruto, Knights of the Zodiac, and Hulk in the Marvel cinematic universe.
You will also receive René García, voice of Vegeta in Dragon Ball, Laura Torres, voice of child Goku, child Gohan and Goten in Dragon Ball; Xóchitl Ugarte, voice of child Vegeta in Dragon Ball Daima; Luis Manuel Ávila, actor and voice of Gohan in Dragon Ball Super; Lalo Garza, voice of Kriline in the Dragon Ball franchise; Gerardo Reyero, voice of Freezer in Dragon Ball Z, and Ricardo Brust, of Broly, Cell and Mr. Satan in Dragon Ball.
All of them have an extensive career in which they have lent their voices to dozens of characters from the most popular anime.
Another guest will be Josafat Espinosa, Mexican singer and composer, who will offer a concert, as he is known for performing the first opening of “Dragon Ball Super.”
Study from Japan visits Mérida
Arestis Vidal Ek, representative of Studio Colorful from Japanassured that it is the first time that a Japanese study reaches Mexico and the Tsunami will receive them to share with anime fans the most recent proposal from that company, titled “Cosmic Princess Kaguya”a film that they plan to release next January on Netflix.
For this, Shingo Yamashita, director of the film, animator and director will be present in the opening sequences of “Naruto Shippuden” and “Jujutsu Kaisen”. Additionally, he is a scene creator, including direction, animation, 3D and cinematography. He was a director for the original anime “Pokémon Sword & Shield: Twilight Wings.”
And will be accompanied by Kazuma Momohara, animation producer “Cosmic Princess Kaguya”, who was assistant animation producer on “Attack on Titan Season 2” y “Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars”. In 2018 he joined Studio Colorido and has worked on “Twilight Wings” and “Hogar a la drift”.
He adds that they will have a module with material from the upcoming film, as well as posters, stickers and photocards that they will be giving away.
On Sunday they will have a special Q&A of the movie, and two exclusive cosplayers. Maurice Gage “Sheik”, who is a cosplayer and belongs to the Cosplay Alley group, selected through the convention that have specific characteristics or qualities, pointed out that they will have a module with “print” content, as well as contests and dynamics.
He spoke about the World Cosplay Summit qualifiers, the most important competition in the field internationally, for which a phase is held in Mexico and there are different selections in the country, one of which is Tsunami.
He shared that the contest is a duo of cosplayers doing a performance, and the winners will represent the State to seek to win the national one, and represent Mexico internationally against more than 40 countries. He points out that there are also other contests such as individual and group cosplay, as well as K-pop and Dance Cover contests.
Ana Puc “Komakino”, also a cosplayer, pointed out that they will be present at the event to show their art with contests, dynamics and other interaction activities with attendees.
Manuel Lara Can, from Xtakay Studio, who is in charge of the Artist Alley in the Tsunami, stated that the event will feature 90 artists from different parts of the country, at 40 exhibition tables, forming one of the most diverse creative communities in Mexico.
“Attendees will be able to get up close and personal with the illustrations, concept artists, caricatures, animations, mangas and creations, everything that these artists generate and produce.”
They will have a special guest, Editorial Committee, that has taken Mexican talent to the world and has represented Mexico in Japan, Germany, France, Costa Rica and Panama.
They will offer a manga scriptwriting workshop on both days of the event, at four in the afternoon, aimed at those who want to learn how to land an idea from scratch, build characters and emotions, create Japanese-style narrative structures and turn a story into a project.
On Sunday at 12 noon there will be an exclusive talk by the Comitlán creative team.
Gerardo Sabido Concha, member of the Tsunami organizing team, expressed that they cannot miss the event, since there will be more guests, such as Iván Ramírez, from “La Gruta del Alux”, and other surprises.
