Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has barely spent a few days in cinemas, yet the buzz around Dhurandhar 2 is already heating up. The spy-action thriller, led by Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Sanjay Dutt, has enjoyed a strong box-office run, thanks to its tight storytelling and high-voltage espionage drama.The first instalment ended on a gripping note, especially with Ranveer’s character Jaskirat stepping into his mysterious new identity, Hamza. The sequel is set to arrive on 19 March 2026, and now, R Madhavan has offered fans a major peek into what’s coming next.

Dhurandhar 2: Madhavan Praises Aditya Dhar’s Vision

Speaking to a newswire, R Madhavan couldn’t stop applauding director Aditya Dhar’s calm, focused approach to filmmaking.

He described Dhar as “a monk”, saying the filmmaker maintained remarkable composure even through the chaos of creating an intense and layered action-thriller.
Madhavan added that working on Dhurandhar has made him eager to collaborate with Dhar repeatedly in the future.

Dhurandhar 2: Madhavan Reveals His Character Arc

The actor also dropped the first proper hint about his character Ajay Sanyal’s journey in Dhurandhar 2.


Madhavan revealed that while his screen time was limited in the first film, the sequel will place him “front and centre”, as his character takes on a crucial role in shaping Jaskirat’s transformation.
He confirmed that in the second instalment, Ajay Sanyal will train Ranveer Singh’s character in the art of espionage warfare, opening the door to deeper mentor-protégé dynamics and more intense action sequences.

Dhurandhar 2: Why This Film Matters for Madhavan

Reflecting on his strong professional year, Madhavan said he began it with Hisaab Barabar and is ending it with a film that is “one of the most important” in his career.

He added that he feels fortunate to have collaborated with visionary directors such as Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan, Rajkumar Hirani, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Aanand L Rai, and now Aditya Dhar, all during their most creatively charged phases.

Dhurandhar 2: What the Franchise Is Built On

Released on 5 December, Dhurandhar is produced by Aditya Dhar, Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar.

The film draws inspiration from real incidents including the Kandahar hijack and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, giving the story a gritty, realistic edge that clearly struck a chord with audiences.

With Madhavan’s latest revelations and the promise of exploring Jaskirat’s evolution into Hamza, Dhurandhar 2 is already shaping up to be one of 2026’s most-awaited films.
