Mexico City, October 21 (However).- Cuauhtémoc BlancoDeputy of Morenaassured this Tuesday that he needs to do exercise by health reasonsafter reviews and questions he received after being shown yesterday playing padel during a ordinary session of the Budget Committee of the lower house was carried out blended way.

“I love paddle tennis, thank God I am an athlete and I don’t just play paddle tennis, I play basketball. I did some studies at Médica Sur, you may ask. Because I need to exercise. Because after nine years I was with the Municipal Presidency, then I was Governor of a State, my heart needs to exercise again. […] and you will always be able to see me playing soccer, paddle tennis,” he declared to the media.

The Morenista even explained that he was in the Desierto de los Leones, in Mexico City, and that there was no signal, so it took him a while to connect to the session. “There was no signal, because it was all the way to the Desert of the Lions, so I’m not going to fall for your provocations and as Monreal said, well, I assume my responsibilities and if you want to fine me, then fine me,” he explained.

The Morenoist legislator, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, was caught yesterday afternoon practicing paddle tennis while a blended session of the Budget Commission of the Chamber of Deputies was taking place.

In the video circulating on social networks you can see the remote session that the legislators of this commission were carrying out, when the White Representative is asked to cast the meaning of his vote. With the clear sound of “racquets” in the background, Blanco can be seen with a tired face and totally unaware of what was happening with his coreligionists.

Blanco did not even realize that the legislators were voting and, when speaking, he only asked that his attendance be recorded. Merilyn Gómez Pozos, Representative of Morena, asked the meaning of her vote, but after confirming her attendance, Cuauhtémoc Blanco disconnected from the session again without even realizing what had happened.

The episode provoked ridicule and laughter from the other deputies who claimed that he was playing paddle tennis. “Up to here you can hear the rackets,” said Mario Zamora, PRI Deputy, taking the opportunity to cast his vote against.

“That Deputy says that I don’t know what I’m voting for, I get along very well with him, I don’t have any problems with him, he’s always been like that. He’s very joking but nothing happens, I take responsibility for what happened and nothing more,” added Blanco this Tuesday when questioned about it.

The Budget Commission of this legislative chamber approved with 32 votes in favor, 11 against and zero abstentions its opinion on the budgetary impact of the initiative issued by the General Water Law, which reforms, adds and repeals various provisions of the National Water Law, presented by the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

Merilyn Gómez Pozos, who chairs said commission, assured that the approval of the General Water Law would not generate a budgetary impact for the federal budget, given that its provisions do not include the creation of administrative units, positions or new organizations, nor the establishment of new, qualitatively different powers for the State.
