Bepensa announced the traditional lighting of the treeone of the most beloved holiday traditions in Yucatan and considered the largest Christmas tree in Mexicowith more than 42 meters high and a monumental three-level stage.
This year, thousands of Yucatecan families will enjoy the premiere of the international show “Operation Gift”in a magical story that celebrates the Christmas spirit, family unity and the value of sharing.
As great as the spirit of Christmas, as high as the aspirations of a world in peace and harmony, as full of light as the hope that does not die. More than a monumental structure, the Coca-Cola Christmas Tree It is a tradition that unites families this season and is back to experience Christmas joy together.
For almost three decades, the Coca-Cola Tree It has established itself as a meeting point for generations of families. Thousands of people have grown up around this tradition that Bepensa offers as a gift to the community, to celebrate joy, values and coexistence.
At 42 meters high and more than 100 thousand multicolored lights, the largest tree of its kind in Mexico will display all its magic and captivating charm in an emotional lighting ceremony that will also mark the beginning of the Coca-Cola Christmas Show presentationson the three-level stage, equipped with numerous visual and sound effects, as well as the activities in the Christmas Village.
The ribbon cutting and project presentation took place on this Thursday nightin the heart of the Villa Coca-Cola (extension Paseo de Montejo, parking lot of the Chedraui Selecto store). Directors of Bepensa, a local Coca-Cola bottler, held a press conference in which details of both the lighting of the tree and the show were provided.
The directors were present for Bepensa Oswaldo Cervera Basulto, José Oropeza Escamilla, Edith Aguilar Espinosa and David Dillanes.
“Operation Gift”
With 28 years of tradition, the Coca-Cola Christmas Tree will now be the framework of the show “Operation Gift”con 50 artists from Mexico, Cuba and Ukrainewhich will offer performances on Saturdays and Sundays until December 27.
The official lighting will take place today Saturday the 22nd, at 7 pm, in the Bepensa Christmas Villagewhich includes rides and many other attractions to enjoy with family or friends.
This year, the show “Operation Gift” tells the adventure of Arthur, a young man in charge of answering letters from the children of the world from the North Pole. Shy but determined, Arthur faces an unexpected crisis when he discovers that a gift was not delivered. Together with Fausto, former captain of Santa’s sleigh, he undertakes an extraordinary mission to save Christmas.
The staging brings together almost 50 actors and dancers from Mexico, Cuba and Ukraine, and features special effects, original music and a profound message: the best gift is the joy we ignite in others. The main characters are in charge of: Daniel Ayala Pérez (Arthur), Andrea Farfán Castillo (Maiony), Nicole Rihany García (Shelvy), Angelo Sebastián Ramírez (Steve), Ricardo Ramírez Quijano (Santa Claus), Aranza Noemy Castillo González (Susan), Manuel Lara Tamayo (Fausto), Luis Felipe Manzanilla Peniche (Andyk), Javier Moo Aguilar (Aldo) and Vitali Lavrynenco (Ruffus).

The Christmas Show performances will take place from November 22 to December 27with a total of 16 presentationsincluding double functions: Saturday, November 22, 7 p.m., spectacular tree lighting; Sunday, November 23, 7 p.m.; Saturdays, November 29 and December 6, 13, 20 and 27: double performances at 7 and 8:30 p.m.; Sundays, November 30, December 7, 14 and 21, single performance at 7 p.m.
In addition to the main show, every day the stage will host local academies, artistic groups and special presentations, which strengthen this space as a cultural forum open to the community.
