Supporters of President Sheinbaum tried to silence CNTE teachers who burst into an event with slogans in favor of the federal president.
Mexico City, November 22 (However).- A group of maestrosmembers of Section 22 of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNT), broke into a event headed by the President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo in Oaxaca this Saturday, with the aim of protesting against the Reform Educational and the new Law of the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE).
This day, the representative federal visited the community of Saint Peter and Saint Paul Teposcolula to participate in a meeting with inhabitants and present the progress of the “Lázaro Cárdenas General Plan in the Mixteca“.
Just when the Chief Executive was about to give her speech, a group of teachers began shouting slogans using megaphones and horns, so she was forced to interrupt her message to ask the protesters to remain silent.
“Do those who are with the megaphone listen to me? To the colleagues who are with the megaphone. Well, let’s continue, because they don’t want to listen,” Sheinbaum mentioned.
Despite the president’s request, the CNTE teachers continued with their protest, so some of the people who were present at the event decided to respond by shouting slogans in favor of the President, such as “it is an honor to be with Claudia today.”
Due to the “war” of slogans between protesters and citizens, Sheinbaum had to interrupt his speech on several occasions to ask those present to remain calm and not fall into provocations.
Despite the protest of the CNTE teachers, the President managed to conclude her message on the occasion of the presentation of the progress of the “General Plan Lázaro Cárdenas in the Mixteca.”
