Strange Ring.- The World Boxing Council (WBC, so that listen as organizer of Tepito) withdrew from Terence Crawford the belt that he won a few months ago from Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez.

This was decided by its president for life, Fidel Velázqu… sorry, Mauricio Sulaimán, during the 63rd Annual Convention, held in Bangkok (yes, these executives chose Bangkok).

At stake in the fight were the WBC, WBO, IBF and WBA titles, which the North American won at the time by defeating the man from Guadalajara.

Terence’s belt has been vacated

The withdrawal of the belt that gave Terence the title of super middleweight champion occurred after the North American boxer did not comply with the payment of sanctions corresponding to his last fights, as required by the organization’s regulations.

According to Sulaimán, Crawford had failed to fulfill his obligations to the organization (but of course), hence it was agreed to withdraw the belt that endorsed him as the undisputed champion of the category and declare the title vacant, ensuring that discipline, administrative order and compliance with the regulations are fundamental pillars of professional boxing.

The decision was received with anger by the boxer, who mocked it and railed against the organization, without explaining whether a similar belt would be ordered to be made to mitigate the loss.
