MEXICO CITY.- The president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo He returned this Friday, October 17 to Veracruz, where supervised the support in the territory y government actionsafter the rains and floods last weekend.
Claudia Sheinbaum arrived at the airport this afternoon El Tajín, in Veracruzto follow up on supervision.
In addition, the president was in Poza Rica, where she met with Governor Rocío Nahle, who thanked her for her support in the situation facing the state.
“Your support strengthens the joint work for the recovery and well-being of the people of Veracruz,” said the governor.

Yesterday, October 16, 2025, through a video the president shared the progress in Veracruz, Hidalgo, Puebla, Querétaro and San Luis Potosí, one week after the heavy rains that left severe damage in the communities.
There are 72 deaths due to heavy rains in Mexico
On the official microsite of the Mexican Government it was reported that as of this Friday there are already 72 people dead and 48 not located. Veracruz is the state with the highest number of deaths with a total of 32, while 14 remain unlocated.
In second place is Hidalgo, with 21 dead and 29 missing; Puebla follows with 18 deaths and 5 missing; while Querétaro registers one death.
