American Lorenzo Bundy had a successful debut on Tuesday as the new manager of the Tomateros de Culiacán, leading the team to a 4-0 victory over Naranjeros de Hermosillo, in the Mexican Pacific League.
Yesterday, in his official presentation, Bundy expressed his excitement at wearing the cherry flannel again.
Los Tomateros revealed the decision through a statement on their social networks, welcoming the foreign helmsman who has commanded the Sinaloa troop since last Tuesday at the start of the series against Naranjeros de Hermosillo.
“My first step in Mexico was here in Culiacán as a baseball player. Having this opportunity again is beyond words. We are looking for championship number 14, that is the goal.”
The manager, who replaced Roberto Vizcarra, highlighted the passion of the Culichi fans and assured that his style will be positive and aggressive, with the intention of leaving a mark on the organization.
“We are not very bad, we are not very good either. But I was surprised by the call. But after talking, we reached an agreement that is where I want to be right now with the Tomateros,” he said.
With Bundy at the helm, the Tomateros seek to regain prominence and add a new title to their history, maintaining the goal of achieving championship number 14 in the LMP.
Charros are reinforced
For their part, the Charros de Jalisco announced the hiring of three reinforcements for their roster ahead of the close of the regular season role.
The Japanese pitcher Tomohiro Anraku, the American Connor Hollis and the Mexican catcher Dean Nevárez are the brand new reinforcements that are already available with the Charros, who on Tuesday started the series against the Venados de Mazatlán.
